Pilbara Minerals’ 100%-owned Pilgangoora Lithium-Tantalum Project, located 120km from Port Hedland in Western Australia’s resource-rich Pilbara region, is one of the biggest new lithium ore (spodumene) deposits in the world, with a globally significant hard rock spodumene resource.
Whittens was awarded the contract for the detailed earthworks and underground services, and approximately 5,000m3 of structural concrete construction works. We successfully delivered the scope of works which included the construction of major structures along the wet and dry circuit such as the reclaim tunnel vault with access and egress tunnels, gravity grinding circuit, ball mill, HPGR vault, flotation, HMS, wet dressing area and coarse spodumene storage facilities.
