Whittens was awarded the project to deliver mechanical, piping and electrical works for GEMCO’s Tailing Storage Facility (TSF) 13. This project involves the delivery of work over three stages, including the installation of approximately 20,000m of HDPE piping, associated earthworks, pontoon installation and electrical works.

The scope of work for this project includes:

• Construction of tailings feed pipelines
• Construction of tailings ring main and spigots
• Construction of decant return pipelines
• Installation of decant pump station infrastructure
• Installation of electrical infrastructure
• Pressure testing of all new pipelines, valves and fittings
• Pre-commissioning of all pipework, valves and pumps and generator sets.
