The TSF comprised a 40m high zoned rockfill embankment fitted with an exposed bituminous geomembrane (BGM) liner on the upstream face, emergency spillway and downstream seepage collection pond.

The scope of works included:

• Winning, screening and conditioning the select 10m thick base support layer for the BGM Liner
• Construction of the tailings storage facility including supply and installation of the BGM liner.
• Construction of the toe plinth, perimeter anchorages and base support layer for the BGM liner.
• Return Water System (RWS) and Access Road which consisted of bulk excavation, unbound pavement and drainage construction linking the eastern side of the TSF with the main access road to the Dugald River.
