The Barimunya Aerodrome is certified under Part 139 of the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations (CASR). BHP, as the operator of the aerodrome, required a contractor to perform the remediation of the graded area of Airstrip at the Barimunya Aerodrome.

The Barimunya Aerodrome Strip Remediation Project scope included earthworks in and around the live airport, requiring a dedicated night shift team. Rectification of the runway strip to be constructed as per the requirements of MOS139 (2019) of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) involving bulk and detailed earthworks along the 2km runway.
