Whittens was engaged to deliver bulk earthworks, roadworks, detailed earthworks, rock armour protection, mangrove clearing at the Lumsden Point Site in Port Hedland harbour.
The scope included construction of 2.2 km access road linking the temporary MOF to the Great Northern Highway (GNH), laydown area and a 1.2km causeway. The access road construction included modification of the current intersection with the GNH. The causeway construction included rockfill installation, placement of geofabric to protect against tidal erosion and construction of causeway embankment from select dredge material. The project included approximately 140,000m3 of earthworks.Lumsden Point temporary module offloading facility.
Whittens scope of works included:
- Bulk earthworks, roadworks, detailed earthworks, rock armour protection, mangrove clearing.
