Whittens was engaged to provide upgrade works as part of the LSC treatment program at Riverstone Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP), St Mary’s Water Recycling Plant (WRP), and Quakers Hill WRP (NSW).

The scope of the projects involved the provision of formwork, reinforcement and concrete placement (FRP) for the construction of the three biological reactors, biological reactor distribution chamber, secondary clarifiers, ras pump station, tertiary flow distribution chamber, inlet works, mechanical primary screens and a tertiary clarifier.

The scope of works included:

• A combined concrete total of 20,000m3 of reinforced concrete, class 2 finishes.
• Hydro testing completed on all structures post construction.
• Application of epoxy protective coatings post concrete placement and cast on HDPE liner.
