The Sino Iron Ore project is located approximately 100km south-west of Karratha in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Whittens was engaged to complete associated formwork and concrete works to six individual AG Mills.
The scope of works included the supply of all supervision, labour, materials, plant, equipment, tools, consumables and all other items necessary for the installation of the six AG Mills, which are a Reinforced Concrete structure to approximately 17 metres in height. Whittens was also engaged to complete all concrete works to the temporary lay down for the AG Mill, which was constructed to hold the AG Mills prior to installation.
The Sino Iron Ore civil concrete construction scope of works included:
- Formwork and concrete works for six AG Mill structures, which were reinforced concrete structures to approximately 17m in height.
- Overland conveyor drive unit foundations and transfer station foundations, pipe rack footings, five reclaim tunnels, 5 conveyor lines between AG Mills and the Pebble Crushers and North and South entry tunnels.
- Supply of all supervision, labour, materials, plant, equipment, tools, consumables
